Mojacar is situated in the Provence of Almeria within the Region of Andalucía in Southern Spain.
Mojacar is split into two areas, Mojacar Playa which is the sea front area and Mojacar Pueblo which is the town built on the side of a mountain (the old area of Mojacar).
Mojacar Playa offers wonderful sandy beaches where children’s play areas can be found, water sports and many other activities. There is a huge array of beach bars and restaurants to be found, you would be sure to find one that meets your needs and budget.
Mojacar Pueblo is built on the side of the mountain and looks magnificent especially at night time when all the nights are on. The Pueblo offers many café, bars and restaurants again that would suit your needs and budget. There are a couple of viewing platforms where you can take in the breath taking views across the countryside. The Pueblo is still only approx. 15/ 20 minutes’ walk to the beach.
As a family we have been visiting Mojacar for over 10 years and every time we go there is something new to see, new bars, restaurants and entertainment to try. If you have a car then there are lot’s of other places not too far away to visit for example, Vera, Garrucha, and Turre. These all offer fabulous weekly markets where you will find all sorts of items on sale from gifts to take home or if you are self-catering the fabulous fruit and vegetables.
Both Mojacar Playa and Mojacar Pueblo are easily accessed either by road or by flying into the two local airports Murcia or Almeria. Alternatively if you don’t mind a drive there’s the opportunity to see even more of the lovely country of Spain by flying into Alicante, which offers more variety on dates and times of flights.
